cable-cardigan

you might find it hard to believe, seeing as it hasn’t really been mentioned, but the cabled cardigan is done! Honestly, the only reason I take so long to finish a sweater is that, with beer being taxed at 86% in utah, i have to save up to buy the celebratory drink!

Yarn:
Beaverslide Wool in Charcoal

changes
made the sleeves in a medium and the body in a small, adjusting the sleeve openings as required
likes
this has a super broad collar that will keep the back of my neck warm once the temperatures have dropped 30 degrees
dislikes
bobbles are not necessarily my thing

Gradient Redux

Tuesday, February 20th, 2007

i loved the idea of a gradient sweater. So much, i’ve made two.

mine? Based off the idea of a babajoes (site now defunct, or i’d provide a link - thanks Twig!) sweater, morphed into the yoke sweater from last time and then into a raglan sweater this time. Included EZ’s neck shaping that i love!
yarn / garn
Cascade EcoWool(3 skeins - two colors)
needles / nadeln
Clover Bamboo, U.S. 11 / 8 mm
beer / bier
Samuel Smiths Organic Lager - a fine compliment to an Eco-Wool sweater

oh wait, i have to fix my hair

right here, it says ‘organic’

und es schmeckt auch nicht schlecht!

and it doesn’t taste bad either!

refined raglan

Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007

Finished way back in 2006, my Refined Raglan sweater from the Winter 2006 Interweave Knits finally has a beer and a picture:

alterations/aenderungen
i shaped the back of the neck as EZ describes in Knitting Without Tears, i also used a contrast color for the inside of the sleeve cuff
should have changed / Gewuenschte Aenderungen
Contrasting yarn on the inside of the bottom hem. Should have also made the bottom hem longer as my row gauge was significantly less than the pattern’s. Also would leave out the lace holes on the raglan and do a cable or something instead as the holes look a bit odd with the yarn i used.
